Google have announced that from 1st March 2010, they are dropping support for IE6 (Internet Explorer 6).
This browser is now 10 years old, very buggy and a nightmare to get sites working in using the latest technologies and best practice techniques - but it can still be difficult to explain to clients why it's not such a great idea to insist on their website looking and functioning perfectly in this browser.
Now we can demonstrate it's such a dinosaur and a minority browser that even Google don't support it anymore, it's going to be a great way to get the argument across.
There's a wealth of alternative browsers now, all of which are free, more secure, faster and offering a far better user experience - so it's certainly no bad thing that another nail is driven into IE6's coffin and users persisting with it are given a further push towards upgrading.
